I tried to make my steps bigger in order to come dead on time. I was in a hurry. Not such a classical rush. My human being has its personal views on to be "in time". Nevertheless I went fast.
When I walk purposeless, listening to sounds of treading upon yellow withered leaves is my favourite pastime. And when nobody's around I allow myself to play with them. For a short moment I kick them in air.
But not yesterday. I run along the small park with a pond full of ducks. Through my head run thousand ideas and thoughts and there was no wish to explore an ambience. I was fully taken up with my problems.
Suddenly I saw a little girl in a green bound beanie making her way to me. She was 3 or 4 years old, not more. Blond curls came out of the beanie. I looked around to find out, with whom she came here. On the bench there were two talking women. "Okay, not lost".
She neared me und asked: "Wie heisst du?". Talking to children is always a great challenge for me, cause they speak mostly not so clearly and use simple words that I´ve never learned before (like jumping jack...well, their daily vocabulary).
I answered slowly trying to spell my not european name as far as possible clearly. A little girl looked at me and headed her mom. I smiled and went away.
Then I heard someone calling "Aika!" Turned I saw the girl calling me "Aika" and giving me a cheer wave.
aika...mmm...aika.
